Why we love Cutting!

Why We Love Cutting

Last month we introduced you to Leaone and Richard from Cutting Loose at Lakota View.  I asked Leaone if she could tell us a bit more about them and how they got into cutting.

Take is away Leaone

A little about us… We own and run a cattle property at Booyal between Childers and Gin Gin in Queensland.  I was looking for a good horse and someone mentioned JRL Oaks Restyle.  We didn’t know much about cutting or cutting horses but we found out that the horse was quiet and well trained.  So we packed up our gooseneck and headed off to Springsure to have a look at her

When we arrived I thought Hubby, who has been a ringer for most of his life, was going to load up Indy (JRL Oaks Restyle) and put her in the float straight away.  We were amazed that Jason and Rachel took time out of their day to show us Indy and even give us a lesson on her.  We were just were blown away at how nice and accommodating Jason and Rachel were

And during this process we were converted to the cutting game.. Not only because of our beautiful mare but the manner in which everything was conducted and the gentlemen ship (if that is a word) of the sport.  It has blown us away…

We have not competed yet and are a long way off as far as the learning process.  I am a new rider and Richard is converting from a different style of riding.  So Richard and I got to thinking that we should give other people the opportunity to try out this amazing sport and learn about cutting with us.  I want people to know that it does not matter what ability level you are or what horse you ride.  All that matters is that you are going to have a go and enjoy yourself.

So we started up “Cutting Loose at Lakota View.”  And already we are seeing the benefits of this facility for us, and our clients.  Already people have commented on their improvements and in the last draft a number of people placed in the draft and first place in the cut out!

If you want to find out more about this great facility you can either check out the business page on Cutting Horse Link or head to their website:  http://cuttinglooseatlakotaview.webs.com
