An Xtreme Horse Sale
The 22nd January, 2011 saw the 1st annual on site sale of horses offered by Xtreme Quarter Horses at Karrimba, Victoria. The catalogue was all consignments of Xtreme Quarter Horses. Managing agents, Elders of Rockhampton and Albury reported a great result for the 1st sale held on site. A clearance of 41 quarter horses, stock horses and others saw a total of $201,300 for an average of $4,909.00.
Top price went to a quarter horse broodmare, Roc E Fex (Docs Spinifex/Immarna Odessa Lena) sold for $19,000 to 3Rs Land & Cattle of Qld. They also brought the 2nd highest priced horse in Peptos Perfection for $15,750. Leading the quarter horse ridden fillies was QXH Electric Lady (Oak So Smart/Docs Electra) purchased by Troy Randell for $12,000. Quarter Horse geldings toped at $8,750 with QXH Pepto With Style (Peptos Stylish Oak/Immarna Odessa Lena) purchased by Gerald Eagan. Quarter Horse mares sold to a top of $8,500 with QXH Unique Jazz (Dual Jazz/Amarroo Unique Playgirl) selling to Carnaco Pastoral Co. Led quarter horse fillies saw Kim Landsdown of Emerald in Qld paying $12,000 for Winderadeen Gay Cat (Intracatolena/Winderadeen Gay Lena).
The 41 lots sold will entitle each purchaser to one nomination to compete at the 2012 Xtreme Quarter Horse sale in what should be 2 Handed Cut Out event which at this time has a purse of $5,000 and this could rise by then with new sponsors coming on board to promote this unique event. This event is only open to buyers at the 2011 sale and they can use their nomination to enter any horse which they own in the competition.
The 2012 sale will be held again in January and there will be an opportunity for outside venders to catalogue there quarter horses and stock horses in the sale. The vendors have had great feedback from the sale which will ensure that the 2012 event will be bigger and better the selling agents are pleased to see a sale like this in Victoria be so successful. Buyers registered from all states in Australia which showed the outside interest in the lots on offer.
